FedEx Scam Email

Most scam emails give hints to their malicious intent. In most, you will find that they are littered with vague references, strange emails, nonsensical links, grammatical errors, and misspellings. 

Here is a look at a recent scam email from FedEx. When you look closely, you can see that there are many clues that it is not truly from FedEx.

Here are the major signs that this email it not legitimate:

The sending email address: mailto:support@creatoys.com has nothing to do with FedEx. If it were really from FedEx, the sending address would end in 'fedex.com'

The Subject Line: This is very vague and the ID code is made- up. 

Greeting: If FedEx had your email address and Customer ID number, they would have your name as well and address the email with your name. 

Wording: 'has arrived at October 17' simply does not make any sense. 

Get Shipment label link: You can check on link by hovering your mouse over it; NOT CLICKING the link. You can see that the link goes to a website that has nothing to do with FedEx. If you were to click this link, you machine would most likely be infected with malware.
